There are only a few days left in 2022, and things will be getting busy as we approach Christmas and the new year.
It's been 10 months since we moved from Oahu to the Big Island of Hawaii. At this time of year in Kapaau, strong winds occasionally rustle the trees. The fresh, clear air refreshes the soul.
This is a town without the convenient environment of convenience stores, so "making things" has become a part of life, the complete opposite of convenient.
Creating a field in the garden and growing vegetables. Picking fruit from the trees in the garden and making juice. Picking flowers and making leis. These are very simple things, but they are repeated throughout our lives. There is nothing more luxurious than feeling the changes in nature right next to us. Kapaau, the town next to where I live in North Kohala Hawi, is home to many art galleries and is home to many artists.
I am fascinated by the nature and culture unique to this land, and I have always wanted to share with people the art, wellness, spirituality and other experiences that come with this beautiful natural environment.
As if that wish had drawn me closer, I met Jamie, a yogi and musician, Wes, a master of lauhala weaving, and by chance, Michael, an ipu artist, at a party.
All of the artists are active in conveying Hawaii's unique culture and art, and they have created a unique workshop that can only be experienced at by DECO.
These workshops will take place over two days on the grounds of Banyan Bridge.
Home to over 200-year-old Banyan trees, tropical plants, moss, ferns and hundreds of macadamia nuts, Banyan Bridge Forest is open to explore during your stay.
Relax in the shade, listening to the birds chirping and the wind rustling the trees.
Fresh fruit juice and macadamia nuts harvested on the premises are also available.
In addition, for each program, Tim and I will learn the process in advance and support the customers. Even those who are not familiar with manufacturing can easily apply.
This workshop will allow you to fully experience the Hawaiian lifestyle while using all five senses - seeing, hearing, smelling, touching and tasting - in a location surrounded by nature.
1. IPU Workshop
2. Lauhala Weaving Workshop
3. Wellness Retreat
by DECO Why not enjoy Hawaii's nature and art to the fullest at Banyan Bridge?
